A survey of nearly 58,000 Consumer Reports subscribers ranks the Rochester chain as the top grocery store in the country. Wegmans has held that top spot since 2006.

Based on survey responses, Consumer Reports said Wegmans is “beloved for most everything, from the quality and variety of produce to the courtesy of staff.”

Wegmans scored highly among subscribers for its selection of healthy options, customer service, competitive prices, fresh store-prepared food, and the quality of its poultry and meat.

It’s the second time this month that Wegmans has been named a top dog in a grocery store survey. Wegmans and Publix tied for the top spot in a Market Force Information survey of nearly 13,000 shoppers in March.

Wegmans has 92 stores, employs 47,000 people and had annual sales of $8.3 billion in 2016.
